It would be an honor and a privilege to lead the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office into the future as your Sheriff.

Stanton X. Diggs Sr., a Chicago native, has devoted over three decades to protecting and uplifting Southern Illinois. A 1986 Illinois State Police Academy graduate, he rose from patrol officer to commanding critical units like the Southern Illinois Drug Unit and Meth Response Team.
 
His fearless crime-fighting earned him the 1998 Illinois State Trooper of the Year award. As a Tactical Response Team member, Diggs managed high-stakes crises, from armed standoffs to natural disasters, and led over 100 death investigations with compassion and precision.
 
A steadfast community leader, Diggs has served on boards including Habitat for Humanity, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, and the Williamson County Republican Central Committee. He coached youth sports across Mt. Vernon and Carterville, fostering teamwork and resilience. After retiring, he founded Security Specialists LLC and now ensures quality at a Keeley Construction solar farm.
 
Diggs, with his wife of 30+ years, a Carterville Schools employee, is a proud father of three. His proven integrity and service make him a trusted voice for our future.
